Speaker 1:

Okay, everyone, welcome back, and this is Katherine Daniels with Retreat to Peace, and I'm excited to have my friend, jay Winslow join us again. She was with us in our first season and, if you didn't have a chance to listen to her interview, it is actually very spectacular. We have this beautiful, beautiful energy, and I know we talked about whether you're 9 years old or 90 years old. The message is still the same and it's just absolutely beautiful. So if you do get a chance, go in and jump in on that show, but right now, stick with us so that we can have some fun. So, jay, we have not seen each other in two years. It's hard to believe that two years has already passed and there's been so much that has changed with the world, that has changed with each of us personally, so I'm really excited that you're back with us. Thank you so, so much.

Speaker 2:

Well, thank you for having me. I'm thrilled to be here and to see you again. It's great, thank you.

Speaker 1:

And for the people that are new to the show, just share a little bit about who you are and where you are today.

Speaker 2:

I don't know how to even describe myself. I'm kind of an average bear, but I'm a quirky average bear. I am very much a seeker. I'm very curious about life and I'm always. I never really enjoyed learning when I was a kid, but now I can't seem to get enough. So I'm always on a path of trying to better myself and be a better person and a better leader and be someone who brings positivity to the world, because I don't think we have enough of that, and I love exploring just a variety of topics and endeavors. I don't have a white picket fence life I call it. I'm kind of a weirdo and when I was a kid, as we talked about before, I so wanted to fit in. It was my greatest heart's desire and now I'm so grateful that I have her figured out how to fit in. So now I joyfully and proudly am a weirdo on the edges of life and loving every minute. I love that so much.

Speaker 1:

And I know the last time we talked you were talking about going camping and all these adventures and I just love that so much because I feel like not enough people take those kind of adventures and really explore life and explore what there is that life offers, because they just get so caught up in the day to day stuff and they just let time pass and not really live, really, truly live.

Speaker 2:

Well, I mean yes, and because I think you haven't heard this. So I did go out in my camper last summer, as well as the summer before, when we had spoken, and both of them are actually turned up to be very challenging and very difficult. And last year was so horrible. I came home, my dog died in the middle of nowhere. I couldn't walk because I needed a new hip. It was just, as they say, a chit show, and it was so difficult. And yet, you know, here I am to tell the tale and, just like everything crazy that happens in our lives, it now makes for a great story. But boy, in the middle of it, it was not pretty.

Speaker 1:

So I have a question for you In the middle of the storm, are you like the buffalo that plow your way through the storm, or are you one that sits in the storm and just kind of lets things pass?

Speaker 2:

Well, you know, it's very interesting because I learned a lot about myself being alone with my dog these last two summers Well, actually always. But there was this sort of I think it happened to a lot of us during the pandemic where there was this condensation of our lives so that what happened in a month or a year was almost like this exponent. It was like your whole life squished into this tiny timeframe because so much occurred Like it was pretty crazy, right, like the roller coaster ride of it all. And the same thing happened with this and what I really noticed is I journaled I'm not a big journaler, but I journaled every day about where I was and what was going on and what I noticed is that it's very much like being a business owner, being an entrepreneur, because every day you have new challenges and new problems and you have to stay very present and solve them on the fly, because that's all there is. You know, you get your tire blown out on the highway, you're going to have to handle it pronto. So all that sort of stuff. That happened in the same thing with my dog. She got he it's not funny because I had a boy dog that was very feminine, and now I have a girl dog. That's very boyish and it just cracks me up.

Speaker 2:

Everyone thought my boy dog was a girl. He got really sick in the middle of nowhere and I literally had no idea what to do. So I used Google and there's no one to call, no one know. It was just it was a mess. But that's what I found. I found that, as with all of life, but in this little microcosm, your only choice is to stay present, to roll with it, to stay as centered as you possibly can, to stay. I tried to stay grateful, although I was inside, I was just screaming at all the spirits in the world, but I was also begging for their help, so it was a very strange space to be in.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm so sorry that your dog passed. I mean that's so hard because there's such a big part of you and your life and that's just so hard.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, and I know right.

Speaker 1:

And I know you've got your other one right there.

Speaker 2:

Well, what's crazy is I'm really. He sent her, which is a whole other story. He sent her and he told me he would. It was. The whole thing is pretty. It's magical and spiritual and crazy lady and all the things.

Speaker 1:

Oh, can you share it? The story about it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, oh my gosh, so yeah. So my dogs and I have a very tight bond because they really are my family. I don't have kids, I don't have family. I've got a dog and I'm the crazy lady that talks to their dog all the time, and not like most of us and we hang a lot so and I love on them a lot and they give me a lot of love the day after my.

Speaker 2:

So I named my dog Wallace Lottles, who is the author of the science of getting rich. Okay, he was a compadre of Napoleon Hill, who wrote this thinking well, rich, so very much that like our thoughts, our things, and we manifest what we think about. Well, I called him Wallace Lottles because he was number 67 of 84 in a big hoarding case. So he was rescued and he somehow went from this scrawny, skinny dog with no hair, malnourished, really a mess, to this beautiful, hairy because he had he was so stressed out, he had no hair. I didn't know that, yeah, and he lived like, like, he went from that to being like King of the world. He was the king here in his little domain and to me that was like incredible manifesting. So I named him after that guy because it's like, dude, you got, look what your thoughts did. You want it out? You got out.

Speaker 2:

So I named him after that guy and so the day after he died this is good as some nuts, and it kind of is that I it's so woo woo and it's so awesome this girl that I had met online I participate in a community of healers. It's a long story and she reached out to me. Now I'm on the road in the middle of Nevada, like now I'm camping in a parking lot to be close to the vet that I finally found blah, blah, blah and she said are you okay? I woke up with you on my heart and I said, well, actually, no, my dog died yesterday. I don't have a mess. And she said yes, I know, he sent me a poem for you. What.

Speaker 2:

She said he also, um, he wants me to sing it to you, but I'm not going to sing it, okay, but if you ever want to sing it, you know where to buy me. And she sent me this poem and the poem. Oh my God, I was sobbing because one of the phrases in it is it's like I something about. I love you, how you be, your, something about that you're quirky, honest and true. And I just started crying through my tears and I was like, oh my God, I call myself quirky all the time. And she said to me I tried to get him to change that line and he wouldn't. Isn't that funny? But it was. It was this long poem and it was filled with all sorts of stuff like that. It was pretty wild, yeah, and we had had this talk about I'm going to send you someone. So I told you I had hip surgery in December, so by about early February I was ready. I needed somebody to walk with me, because now I'm walking around the neighborhood, because that's the number one thing to get you going again, and I'm like this crazy lady hobbling around the neighborhood. So I said I have to get a dog to walk me so I don't look like an idiot. And so I go online and I apply for all these dogs. Well, no one gets back to me. I didn't know that this was like a thing. People want a lot of dogs. They go really quickly, little dogs.

Speaker 2:

And this one place reached out to me in there in Texas and the dog's name is Sugar. Now, I would never name it. I named it dogs, things like Wallace Waddles or Bucky Fuller I would never. I would never. Yeah, I would not have done that. Bucky, you know Buckminster Fuller, I would have gone for that. And I was like, oh my gosh, it's Wally.

Speaker 2:

I was again walking around the neighborhood. You got to send me a sign. Is this? Am I supposed to adopt this dog? And then I had this like moment when I got V8. Oh my gosh, I got hit over the head by the universe because I call my camper sugar and I called my rig sugar and the beast. I call my truck the beast and I have a clothing line which I call sugar plum, so it's sugar, sugar. And then I have a dog right here named sugar and I was like, oh goodness, thank you. Message received. So I got the dog and she is so sweet you could not name her anything but sugar. She's literally sweet as sugar. Oh am I crazy. I'm sure he's sent her.

Speaker 1:

That's beautiful.

Speaker 2:

I love that so much.

Speaker 1:

But you know that happens to us often. A lot of people. They ignore those signs, they ignore you know when this shows up and they just think that it's crazy, just like you said, instead of connecting the dots and recognizing that it's meant for them, like they just want to push it aside. So I love that you were able to recognize it and you had that guidance and that help and we're nudged along that this was meant for you, because that's incredible.

Speaker 2:

It really is. And I had asked him specifically. He was not a cuddler and I would try to cuddle with him and be like please, lady, get off of me. And so a long time ago I said Listen, you're going to get old and you're going to go away and you're going to send me another critter, but when you do, can you please make it somebody cuddly, because I really like to cuddle. This dog is so cuddly it's crazy. Oh, she just lays across me in the morning. It's just hysterical and I know it's him. I know it's him.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, absolutely, and since I've seen you last, I mean it sounds like there's a lot of things that have changed for you in your life and I know you were saying a little bit that you're part of this like group project and you were helping this group, you know, facilitate stories and what was part of the story that you were sharing with the world? As far as your story.

Speaker 2:

That was a really crazy too. So I have a friend who is really fantastic. I met her, oh gosh, almost 10 years ago. We went to this event that Mindvalley. Are you familiar with Mindvalley? It's a pretty large business. Anyway, they put on this event and it's mostly for entrepreneurs around the world and a lot for digital nomads, and at this point a lot of coaches go. But originally I think it was really more meant I'm sorry, I'm turning on my air conditioning, I'm sweating to death. It was meant for, like, digital nomads. So we met, sharing the bus from the airport to the location, and we've been friends ever since.

Speaker 2:

Well, she's a publisher and she was running this book and she asked if I wanted to be in this book and I said yes. And then, when we had a meeting, I said I don't think you're going to want me in the book because the book was about faith and I don't consider myself somebody who's very faith-ish. I don't even know what to call it. And she laughed when I said that and she said oh, girl, you bring it. I want all sorts of points of view. And the book is now out. It was just released a couple of weeks ago and sure enough, there are so many different points of view and so many they're really. If I didn't know these people because I've been meeting with them now for almost a year I would think they were made up, but they're not. They are real life stories and they are wild of like spirits and seeing things and like what happened with me, and it's really been educational and amazing and I am like just so thirsty for these stories that I still reading the book. That's how intense the book is.

Speaker 1:

So okay, so it sounds like this incredible collection of stories that allows people to go into these spaces that maybe they would question. So, for examples, people that are mediums, people that have this ability to channel you know different things. It's not, it's everyday people and everyday people Well there you go, having crazy experiences.

Speaker 2:

So, for instance, my stories, my story, I'll tell you about that if you want to hear. But like, for instance, the publisher, so during the making of the book, if you will like, the making of a movie, the girl that had been working with her for the last four or five years as her lead designer died in a fire. She went on holiday for a few days Now my friend is a major workaholic, god bless her and this she finally carved out a few days and this girl went and she was in an air BNB with some other people and for some reason, I don't know how the fire started, but they could not get out, they couldn't open the windows, they were they were trapped in this house.

Speaker 2:

So my friend threw a meditation. She's very, she's very, she is very faith based, unlike myself. And she was in a meditation and she said she, this is what she, you can read in the book. God, I need to know that she's okay. And so please show me what happened.

Speaker 2:

And she had this whole visual experience of watching this girl get out of a, an Uber and turn towards her. Who's like her, you know, kind of watching from down the street, and she kind of flashed her a smile like all as well, and then she went into this building and it just set her heart so more at ease. But yeah, she, she's known for building schools in Asia and around the world and so she now is fundraising to build a school in this girl's honor in Pakistan, where she's originally from. So a lot of the proceeds of the book are going to go to this school. And she just got back from Indonesia where she built another school and, yeah, she's up to some really great stuff and it's I'm really happy to be aligned with this sort of project, because I'm happy to be aligned with you. Oh, thank you, because I love you, do gooders.

Speaker 1:

But it sounded like you didn't feel like you were. You were contributing to the book. So why did you feel like you weren't contributing?

Speaker 2:

Well, because I wanted to share that. I kind of wanted to be the voice of skepticism and cynicism, because that's how I be, and I know I'm not the only one. So I wanted to be able to participate as this, you know, I just I would have a personal story that everyone's going to be talking about God, god, god, god. And I'm not a big God person. I believe in angels, I believe in spirits. I can't tell you why they've shown up for me. Actually, my story is a bit about that, but I just have always really struggled with the concept of the concept of the God thing, because, to me, if there really was an entity, I can't imagine all this hate and divisiveness and people killing each other, like wouldn't we all get along? Wouldn't we all come from a place of love? Wouldn't, I mean, we come out of the womb that way? So why is it? If there's something, anything? And as a kid I was very dark and very depressed and I literally used to say, if there is a God, this is. Is this how they entertain themselves? Like watching people suffer? I just didn't, I and I still. There's a lot I don't understand. I just don't get it. So it really was this when I tell the story that you know of this.

Speaker 2:

I've created an experiment around faith and the crazy thing is, as I went through this journey was the story started. I started the story and it happened to have been literally 20 years ago this year. When I started the story, which started with a car accident that I should have died in with my parents, it hearkened back to my first personal development awareness, which was 20 years prior to that, and then I didn't connect the dots till this past February, which was 20 years later. So in many lifetimes I've lived a whole entire life. Between that moment I first shared about this car accident till today. It just was whoa. So it was a big journey for me and really what I found for myself with that faith for me showed up as an acronym. So a lot of people think of fear F-E-A-R as false evidence of hearing real or fantasized experiences, of hearing real or something like that.

Speaker 2:

And for me, what happened was that I realized, being in the space of a Burning man event which is very love-based and very energetic, alignment-y oriented, that it was really more about a frequency. Just as we seek this frequency, many of us, of success and abundance and love Right, what if there's a frequency of faith? What if faith is actually frequency that is altered in the heart, that you then radiate out and it's like a butterfly effect, having that frequency through the world? And when you have that kind of faith and that kind of frequency, then, yes, you actually can affect everything.

Speaker 1:

Absolutely. I mean everything is energy and love and joy is at the highest level of energy fields you could possibly be in and that energy field ripples across vibrationally to how many hundreds of people, thousands of people, just by being in that high vibrational state. And if you're in a lower vibration, I mean that darkness you talk about. You talk about what does GOD look like? But there's always two sides of the coin, right? So there's always this dark and this light and there's always this two-sided effect that we have, and it's choosing which side we're going to be with, right. So are we going to be of love and light or are we going to be in a space of darkness and be in a space where it's depressing and that lower vibrational field?

Speaker 1:

One of the things that I loved learning was that when we play music, music is the fastest way to take us and shift our state.

Speaker 1:

So the music that we really connect with at a soul level, that's higher vibrational energy. When we put that music on, it puts us into a whole different place and time and it radiates through our bodies and our cells and everything starts to vibrate, and even our plants in our home, the plants that have this higher vibrational energy. They're thriving, you know. When they have the appropriate things like sunlight and water and food and everything that they need, they are thriving. And then you have plants that are in rooms that don't have that kind of exposure and they don't show that same kind of vibrancy that you do when these other plants are exposed to that. And I noticed firsthand because I tested this. I actually tested this in my home and in my home office. I play music all the time and my plants in my home office are thriving, but then my plants downstairs, where I'm not playing music or anything, they're just like I'm here but I'm not here, yeah.

Speaker 2:

Have you ever read the book? It's by Pam Grout and it's called E-squared and it's a bunch of energy experiments and that's one of them.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that is one of them, that's correct.

Speaker 2:

Yes, I tried it. I didn't do well with that one. I did just rescue some orchids and they're really happy.

Speaker 1:

So there's that. That's awesome. Orchids are absolutely beautiful, but it's true.

Speaker 2:

What you said is so perfect, because everything it does affect ourselves and everything is energy and we are vibrating. So to think that there's anything else doesn't really make any sense, and it's so interesting how we cherry pick this information, like energy is over here but it's not over here. And this happens there but it doesn't happen here but in fact it happens everywhere. So for me it landed so much more not authentically, but it really made it real for me that of course, faith is a vibration. If you think about it, you can take it into any kind of house of worship.

Speaker 2:

Whether I grew up with synagogues or churches, I don't know from churches, but I do know that when you got, when people gather, there's that energy. That's why, when people do I think it was Lin Twist that talked about no, it was Lynn Taggart they did this big experiment with meditation. Do you remember this at all? I forget what it was called, but it's. You know, that's how people heal, that's how people used to get better, that's how people used to be, you know, in the old days when we would sit around on a fire at night, and that's what medicine men did. Right, they sort of joined together to amplify their energy so that they could heal people and make an impact. My dog wants to get up here, so bad.

Speaker 1:

Oh, I'm not. Oh right, there you go. And I think I think most people lose sight of the fact that they have the ability to tap into this and they've just lost their way, like their, their soul self has lost their way to be able to tap into it, because everyone does have the capability, it just looks different. And for myself, I mean, I was five years old when I saw my guardian angel for the first time and she's come back to me at different points during my lifetime, you know, till now. But I do have the ability to see, to hear, to feel and, you know, feel the energies I can. I actually I say this all the time I actually see the soul of a person before I see the show of the person, right? So I, I sometimes I'll be doing interviews and I can tell if someone is sick and I can tell where in their body they're sick, because I can read their, their energy field.

Speaker 1:

So everyone has this ability, but I for myself, because of my unconventional childhood and the way that you know I grew up in the way I, I didn't have the church exposure, I didn't have all of these things, and there's been times throughout my life where people would challenge me on God. What is God? And you know what that is. And I've had people say to me God is in a building, or you have to go to a building and you know this is what it looks like. And I would challenge them because I would say to them how could you tell me that my exposure to God out in the woods, that was healing my body from trauma and abuse, and all of these things was not God right, because everything around me everything around me was God sourced the earth, energy, everything.

Speaker 1:

You know that I had the exposures to. So I know there's a lot of people that question what that is and what that looks like, and I won't ever tell anybody how or you know what to think kind of thing. But for myself I know as a little girl that I was surrounded by this beautiful energy of love when I was in those woods and I know my testimony of being in the woods and having that exposure makes me very unique, because for most people as I was growing up, they'd say, well, you should be on the streets, you should be dead, you should be this or that because of all the abuse that I grew up with and all and all I think is well, that's not my journey, it wasn't supposed to be my journey, you know.

Speaker 2:

And I must kind of what happened for me too. Oh, that's so interesting and, you know, I think people forget whether you're in the woods or you're by the beach or you're, you know, looking at your garden, that look at what that represents, look at, look at what's what you're getting access to, if you really think about it. Yeah, you know, and you have to have that awareness is so beautiful and it's so amazing that here you are living this message Like how that's pretty ding-dang powerful.

Speaker 1:

It really. It really is interesting because you know, as a little girl, always being told you were to be seen and not heard, and you know, knowing that messaging and knowing that the safe place was to be in the woods, because then I didn't have the exposure of possibly, you know, being in trouble quote, unquote, right, and those repercussions, and it's at the time it was very uncomfortable because I didn't fit in. You know, I interview people all the time. They say I didn't fit in for this reason or for that reason. And the reason that I didn't fit in is because I didn't have exposures to television, I didn't have exposure to the downloading of messaging from my parents, I didn't have the exposure of all kinds of things, even other children, really, because I didn't have other children around me really.

Speaker 1:

So it's interesting because I was very protected when I look at my life, and very, you know, sheltered, and all that did was it gifted me the opportunity to live with my heart. You know, from that point forward, and that's the only thing I've ever known. So that's how I've always been. But here in 2023, 2022, 2021, 2020, you know, everybody is like God, this heavy microscope and all these dark spaces within themselves that they haven't dealt with and it all goes back to that. It all goes back to being in gratitude and living in your heart space and just sharing that love and joy with other people. And everybody has the capacity to do it. You know they do. They can just turn that on.

Speaker 2:

And I think, also because you didn't have those influences maybe, that so many of us had and we for me it was it's been decades of sort of taking apart and discerning. Is this what I believe in, or is this something that was programmed? Is this my belief system, or is this something that I was taught either directly or indirectly? As you know, the right thing, and I think one of the gifts I have as an outsider and it sounds like you do too is and being a seeker, is we ask, we're curious, and so, therefore, we ask a lot of questions, and in our internally as well as externally, and that, I think, is one of the ways to sort of get to the heart of what is your heart Exactly.

Speaker 1:

Exactly, and I always find it interesting when people would say to me well, how could you be this person? Because you went through these experiences. And it always jarred my soul, because I would always think to myself well, you're a human like you have. You have the same kind of equipment, tools, you have a heart. I have a heart, like you know. For me it was just very basic, like how could you ask me this question? Because you, too, have this capacity to use and dive into and expand what it is that you have for your life, but you're choosing not to. You know what I mean.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and I don't know if you choose not to, because I just think that and it sort of made me a little more if this is possible compassionate towards myself and others, because if I hadn't written this, if I hadn't participated in this project and written this, I don't know if I would have connected the dots as I did. And when I got the download that Faith was an acronym, I was like, okay, come on, universe, and it means. And nothing came out like nothing. So then I was sent on this weird journey to figure out well, what the heck does this acronym mean? And the deadline was approaching to submit my chapter. I still had no idea and I was really sitting with it. And even when I went to this event in Miami, this Burning man event, I mean I couldn't figure it out. I just couldn't figure it out. And I had a few hours drive, couldn't figure it out, and I was riding my bike around Burning man and all of a sudden it just was like there it was.

Speaker 2:

So I wonder if part of it has to do with patience, which I have very little of. I think it is that we live in such a noisy world and even through the pandemic, which we all thought, oh good, we'll have some quiet now. It was still quite noisy, right? So if you have kids and a husband and a this and a that, I'm not sure I mean God bless. I don't know how women with all the things do all the things, because I'm about my own and my dog barely gets to eat. Sorry, dog, and yeah, it's just like that. We do live in a very challenging time and space to even carve out Like how do we? It's so much easier to ask you how do you do it, then ask myself, how do I do it?

Speaker 1:

I think, too, there's this heightened awareness of this concept of time, because it is going faster than we've ever experienced and we're all feeling it but we're not really catching up with it because we just see it whizzing by and we're like what just happened? But we're so used to the technological advancement being at a slower pace. You know, it took years for things to kind of catch up and allow people to transition into this new space. And now we're living in a society, a day and time, where technology is updating every 24 hours, where it used to be 10 years or five years or seven years, and there's no more years like that, it's all like overnight.

Speaker 1:

And that speed you have to deliberately disconnect, to slow life down and you, like you said earlier, being mindful, right, just being mindful of getting connected with your present being, where you are, being, in gratitude, taking in whatever is around you and just really soaking that space in and for some people that could be in meditation, right Just to slow things down, just really allowing yourself to just sit in that moment and disconnect from everything.

Speaker 1:

And I know there's so many people I've talked to that they say they don't even watch the news anymore because of the rapid fire because of how much bombardment there is at our souls, right that our moral compass is, like you know, clocking off like wait, wait, like this isn't making sense or that's not making sense and it's not resonating with us, like. That's where we have to use our discernment, that's where we have to disconnect and recognize that we have to disengage, and I think it's a purposeful disengagement that we choose to take care of ourselves. And even bigger than that, when we get into earth, energy to your point. Going to the beach and putting your feet in the sand and grounding with mother or earth restores so much of the body, which is why people crave going to the beach or why people crave going on a hike in the mountains, because it restores the body. And they have to remove themselves from all the chaos and the busy and just get centered.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and you and I were talking about this earlier that. Well, first of all, I don't even let my dog watch the news. That's how anti-news I am because it is such a terrible frequency. It's not healthy at all. I think it's extremely agitating and I think that's by design. We live in a time where we have so much available and I'm so glad that you said that about time speeding up, because I keep thinking it's because I'm a bit older, as they say, as you get older, time goes. But yeah, it's happening. It's happening for other people too. Yay, I'm not alone. But I think there's so much available to us in terms of what we know psychologically, in terms of manipulation, and I come from the marketing world, so a lot of what has always been used in marketing has to do with psychology and sociology and anthropology, and now there's so much data and it's really been.

Speaker 2:

I think, a lot of what's happening. I'll just call it that is calculated, is intentional, because it does. It literally weakens your vibration, it weakens your soul, it weakens your ability to choose, to focus, to hone in on. Do you ever do, for instance, the kinesiology experiment right If you are in a room? Because I do this at all my workshops and I'll show people like this room is emitting an energy and it has to do with the success or failure of our time together. So we are all impacting each other. When we sit in a classroom, if we're sitting on a globe together, do you not think that the same thing is occurring? Well, yes, hello, it is. So there are forces that really are making the most of that in their minds, but it's actually just. It's disintegrating the fiber of humanity.

Speaker 2:

And that is something that I feel very strongly about.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I do too, and I feel that it's more important now than ever to get people to recognize their true, authentic space within their soul and how their soul is so important and needs to be protected, and that it is their responsibility to protect that, because our soul is energy and energy doesn't die like our bodies eventually will die, but that energy field does not die it's energy. So it really is important that we value that and if you look at the grand scheme of things, everything that we're feeling is a fight for our soul and there's a lot, a lot to consider.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think when you say it that way, it's so impactful because we don't I don't know that. I mean, I don't normally and thank you for this, because what's showing up for me, what I'm hearing, is that I am the guardian right at the gate, if you will. But I'm also like I really noticed today how happy I am with myself, because I have always been very, a little ADD and a little hyper about you know, I got to work, I got to work, I got to work and I have decided to shift that and congratulate myself on what I get done rather than what I don't get done, which has been my focus for many, many, many, many, many, many, many years. To lay in bed Friday night and think, wow, on Monday I felt so accomplished. On Tuesday I felt, wow, I'm really getting stuff done, and by Friday I am a wrong and bad person because I didn't get the four zillion things on my list handled.

Speaker 2:

No, I'm going to celebrate what I did complete and know that I am in the process of taking care of the rest and it's created a really big shift for me and it's part of this guardianship. Like, self care is critical, making food for myself is critical. Walking my walks every day so that I can connect to nature. It's critical. I'm not willing to give that up and I'm not willing to compromise, because I am going to vote for myself first, and in doing so then I'm able to really nurture the rest of my universe.

Speaker 1:

And I love that you're mentioning that, because that is so important and where people really need to tailor and design that piece of their life that they are taking care of themselves and really being mindful of how they're taking care of themselves. Just like you had said, you need to take your walk and you need to acknowledge what you have to celebrate.

Speaker 2:

These are important steps because if you're living in a time that people want to. They want to erase celebration, Right, right?

Speaker 1:

We're also living in a time where, as things are getting faster, we feel like we're not going fast enough. Good point.

Speaker 2:

But we're human, we have to catch up. We have to catch up. We have to catch up. No, we don't. It's a terrible way to live and it's in the perfect place. It's the perfect time, you're in the perfect place and everything is unfolding perfectly.

Speaker 1:

Then what. It's perfect.

Speaker 2:

Can you have faith in that? Can you have faith in you that you are guiding yourself correctly, instead of being told by another voice that you're not?

Speaker 1:

Right right, and I hope that more people will recognize that they do have a choice right, because I think that's part of what's been happening, as people have been in this force field, you know, I think about when I was a little girl and not having that television exposure. There's so many times I can they're. You know, endless People would ask me do you remember that show? Blah, blah, blah. And I would say no, because I don't. I didn't have that exposure.

Speaker 1:

But it's interesting and I know you can relate to this being in a world where there is this deliberate bombardment to get people to buy goods right, to do a certain action or to do something deliberate, because this is how we want you to go right. So society has told you, basically, without you realizing it, this is what you're expected to do. So you know, there was a point in time where, if you think about clothing, like I remember my grandmother, she would mend her clothes, because clothes were not something that were disposable, they were something that they valued. She would sew her own clothes. And here we live in a society where every you know month or whatever it is, that the marketers decide that they're going to change the fashion and the style, and now they're going to make everybody feel like you're not keeping up, you're not fitting in. You need to have these new clothes and the clothes that you have those are trash, even though they still have tags on them in the closet. You know it's ridiculous. It's like this hamster wheel.

Speaker 2:

And that's wild. Yeah, the level of consumption, you know. It kind of reminds me. It's funny. It kind of reminds me of the movie the Graduate. I don't know if you remember this, because when I was a kid and when Dustin Hoffman says the guy says he asked for some business advice and the guy says the future is plastics, and everyone laughs because we didn't know them. And now the cold darn world is made out of plastic and we're like holy moly, what have we done? And we kept doing that, we continue to do that and we're not as humans, we're not paying attention. So it's very interesting. We're not, we don't. Of course we can't imagine the ramifications. Like again, who knew and we had no idea then right that plastics would be so disgustingly pervasive and destructive? We thought it was this, you know, amazing thing. And I wonder often, you know, what are we creating today that's going to strangle us in the future? Yeah, because we just are so busy embracing everything you know. Look at this whole thing over AI. So fascinating.

Speaker 1:

I know, and as we as we speak, you know the inventors of AI are basically asking everyone to please put a halt on it, because it's very scary at again how fast I mean the. My understanding is AI took the bar and passed and you know it's like there's so many facets to it that are we living in a place and time where computers are taking over?

Speaker 2:

you know, we don't know, and to your point that reminds me of the whole cloning thing that we went through and thankfully that put you know, they put the pedal to that. But yes, I mean, when don't you think it's there's a bit of a flag, when the creators are asking us to dial it back Absolutely, and yet we're not Absolutely.

Speaker 1:

Yeah we're.

Speaker 2:

It's going to be fair. It's going to be very interesting to see what happens.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, all of this.

Speaker 1:

And I think again, it goes back to having discernment, goes back to us being the guardian of our souls right and making those choices and deciding, making deliberate choices of you know. Is this of God or is this of man, is this of love and light or is this of darkness? You know, these are the the very black and white choices that we get to decide and choose for ourselves. But we also have to have our eyes wide open, you know, because to your point it's like we're being shown some signs here and we need to be in awareness and we need to have the discernment.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'm not sure. I'm not sure humanity is capable of that. You know, we're like I think humans are a bit like little kids at Christmas or we just get like, yo, there's something new, you be, let's, let's go play in the mud with that. And then, you know, it's not until later that we realize the repercussions and maybe that's, maybe that is by design, maybe that is part of the human experience. You know, there's a part of us that is curious, and then there's a part of us that are like little kids that think we're going to live forever and that we are invulnerable. And you know that we, we are the masters of our destiny. But are we? You know, we don't know, we really don't. It's so. You know, okay, this is super off topic, but not really so today.

Speaker 2:

When I was a little kid, I used to really love articles and books about UFOs, Okay, and there was an article earlier today that I had to click on. It was totally clickbait in my opinion, but I had to read it because it was about UFOs, and it was a guy that wrote an article about his dad who died rather young, like in his 60s, and he died homeless and everyone thought he was crazy because he was telling people that UFOs were landing on his ranch wherever in some Minnesota or something and they were killing his animals and taking their organs and doing crazy stuff. And everyone thought he was nuts. And now, whatever, there's literally some commission or department that's for UFOs and they are now divulging all this data that this has been going on and there really are UFOs and this poor guy lost everything. And his son, who wrote the article, said, you know, including me, because I thought he was crazy too and I hadn't talked to him and he was homeless.

Speaker 2:

And turns out that he was not crazy and this really did happen. So there's a lot of nutty stuff going on on the planet that we just get a little glimmer of, enough to plant these seeds of A awareness. But also we're so suggestible about questioning. So when we're doing that now, your focus is split. Now you're not able to focus on what's and be present, and that was something I became so clear about when I was on the road. When I'm on the road for these long periods, because it's just me I don't listen to news, I don't listen to commercials.

Speaker 2:

I listen to my little positivity tapes and books and, yeah, I stay in my little bubble and it's really nice, because we have to kind of be careful about our own mental nutrients, which I know that you are aware of as well. I really appreciate that.

Speaker 1:

I really I've been this way my whole life, to be honest with you, and I feel bad for my kids because when my kids were little they would try to bring me into a low vibe, you know with fighting or something like that, and I would shut it down and I'd be like, no, I can't handle that, it has to be. You know of good energy and that's great.

Speaker 1:

And they tease me about it, but honestly, as they've grown up and they become more aware and they're in this awareness now they really appreciate it and understand it and it really is something that all of us can do for ourselves and, you know, highly suggest everybody does it for themselves, because it does take back your power and control and, at the end of the day, you are the guardian of your soul. I love that you said that, because it is spot on, so true and just yeah, on point. So is there anything on your heart right now that you feel like you need to share or talk about? Oh my gosh.

Speaker 2:

I'm just so grateful that this, like the timing of this, is so darn perfect, and you know, it's always such a pleasure to talk to you. I guess the only thing I would want to share is like it's really hard to be ourselves in today's world in any world because there's so much naming and shaming and blaming and all the things. But the one thing that I've learned and I'm just so grateful that I'm still exploring this and continuing to learn is that the best thing we can do to contribute to the planet is to be the best us that we can be, and that is different for everyone. I'm on a leadership kick. I believe that we are all leaders and that the greatest pursuit of us on this planet is to be the best leader we can be. Whether you're leading your dog across the street or, you know, for your kids across the street, it matters. It matters who you be and it matters how you show up and it matters that you commit to being you and not mimicking anyone else, because there's no one like you. You know, I just recently found out and this is really pitiful, but it is true that I just found this out A friend of mine is a human design expert, and one of the things that she shared is that I didn't know this, that your fingerprints are created when you're in the room and that they are completely unique and they're one of the first things that get created on a human.

Speaker 2:

Did you know that? I did not. I did not know that. I think she's telling the truth. I mean, she has no reason not to. But, yeah, the one of the things that forms first is your little tiny fingers and your little fingerprints. So your fingerprints, just like the rest of you, are unique and we forget that. There's such this dash and this urge to fit in. But really, you know I say it with work that great brands stand out but great humans do too, and everyone that's listening is a great human, or you wouldn't have made it this far, and I just encourage everybody to really you know if, the more you can step into that Bravo, like be you, do you and contribute in your own special way, because we need you, we need all of us to just be our best selves and not leave it up, you know, not give your power away to these people that think they're powerful but in fact they're spoiled babies with big egos, egos that just care about themselves. So, yeah, that's not good.

Speaker 1:

No, not good. Well, I feel like at the end of the show I always ask if I were to pick up your earth angel feather off the ground, what would your message to the world be? I feel like you just answered that, but you're welcome to answer it again If you don't. I think that's all I got, thank you, I would like to say, please, Angel, show yourself.

Speaker 2:

That's what I would like to say.

Speaker 1:

I would say this is the first time in an interview that that has happened, so Bravo, that's really amazing.

Speaker 2:

Finally, I'm advanced Yay.

Speaker 1:

Well, thank you so so much again. It's been so much fun. It's always a pleasure and it's so good to see you, and I'm so glad that we've had this opportunity to reconnect two years later and catch up, and it's just been a joy. So thank you so much.

Speaker 2:

Okay, but let's not wait another two years this time. Okay, I agree.

Speaker 1:

Totally agree and, for everyone listening, this is Catherine Daniels, with Retreat to Peace, reminding you to live your authentic life with peace. And, as always, retreat to peace. We'll see you next time.
